Two members of the household cannot be wrapped in bubble roll: the tulsi your mother waters daily and the dog who thinks the packing crew came to play. Both need their own plan, separate from the truck.
Plants
- Water two days before, not on moving day; damp soil travels better than wet
- Small pots go in open crates with paper between them, in your own vehicle where possible
- Large pots: crew wraps the pot, never the plant; keep them last in, first out
- Long routes stress plants; consider gifting some and carrying cuttings instead
Pets
- Keep them in a closed quiet room while packing happens; noise is the real stress
- They travel with family, never in the goods vehicle
- Carry food, water, leash, litter and their unwashed blanket for familiar smell
- Update tags and vet records to the new address the same week
Settling both at the new home
Place plants in similar light to their old spots and hold fertiliser for two weeks. For pets, set their corner first with the old blanket and bowls; let them explore room by room. Our crews are briefed when a home has pets and work with doors managed, part of the care culture behind our household shifting service in every district, from Khunti to Godda. Call +91-99393-00224 and mention your green and furry members while booking.
